Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau

- Prevents Deeper Wrinkle Formation: Regular use can help “train” facial muscles to minimize movement, preventing deeper lines from developing over time.

- Minimal Downtime: Most patients return to daily activities immediately after treatment.

- Therapeutic Uses: Tox is also used to treat conditions like chronic migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), jaw tension/TMJ, and even certain muscle spasms.
- Mild Bruising or Swelling: Common at injection sites; typically resolves within a few days.
- Headache: Some patients experience a mild headache after treatment, usually temporary.
- Drooping Eyelid or Eyebrow (Ptosis): Rare, but may occur if the product spreads beyond the intended area. Usually temporary and resolves within a few weeks. Special eye drops can be administered to reduce eyelid ptosis if it occurs.
- Asymmetry: Uneven results can happen if muscles respond differently or if the tox is not evenly distributed; this can often be corrected with a touch-up.
- Temporary Muscle Weakness Near the Injection Site: May affect expressions or movement slightly; typically fades as the tox wears off.
- Allergic Reactions (Rare): Reactions are extremely uncommon, but symptoms could include rash, itching, or shortness of breath.
What to Do
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment to prevent the tox from migrating to unintended areas.
- Gently exercise your facial muscles (smiling, frowning, raising eyebrows) in the treated areas—this can help the tox settle more effectively.
- Apply a cold compress if you experience mild swelling or bruising at the injection sites. Topical or oral Arnica may help to alleviate some bruising.
What to Avoid
- Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, hot yoga, or saunas for 24 hours, as heat and increased blood flow may affect the results.
- Skip facials, chemical peels, or microneedling for at least 1 week post-treatment.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours, as it may increase the risk of bruising.

Dermal Fillers
Unlike neurotoxins, which can take up to 2 weeks to show results, dermal fillers produce visible changes immediately.
Even with careful technique, bruising, redness, and swelling are common side effects that can occur when using injectables. It is important to follow pre- and post-care instructions and schedule your appointment at least 1-2 weeks prior to important events.
SkinPen® microneedling
1. Avoid sunburn - no tanning beds or direct sun exposure for several days prior to treatment
2. Discontinue retinoids (Retin-A/tretinoin), glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and other exfoliants for 2 days prior to the appointment
3. No waxing, threading, or use of hair removal creams for 2 days before the appointment
4. Avoid Tox, filler, or laser treatments within the week before your appointment
5. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment
6. Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements unless medically necessary, as these can cause increased bleeding and bruising after treatment
